While condemning India’s biased behavior towards female sports presenter Zainab Abbas, the Foreign Office (FO) has said that it is not the right move to make a case against Zainab on the basis of an old tweet.

While giving a weekly news briefing, Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said that India is the host of the World Cup, so it is the responsibility of the Indian state to provide security. “It is also India's responsibility to provide a favorable environment for the Pakistani cricket team,” she added.

While responding to a question, the FO spokesperson said that it is not the right move to make a case against Zainab Abbas on the basis of an unnecessary tweet. Zainab is being dragged into the case without justification, she added.

The FO spokesperson further said that they are in touch with India regarding the issuance of visas to Pakistani journalists and cricket fans.

It is pertinent to mention here that a few days ago, an Indian lawyer, Vineet Jindal, alleged that Zainab Abbas had written messages on social media against Hinduism and India.

Later, in a statement issued by the ICC, it was stated that Zainab Abbas had left India on the advice of the broadcasters and her media manager for security reasons. The Indian lawyer also called Zainab Abbas's departure from India a great success.
