President Asif Ali Zardari approved the appointment of Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim as the acting Chief Justice (CJ) of the Peshawar High Court (PHC), according to an official statement issued on Friday. 

A notification has been released on Justice Ibrahim's appointment as the acting CJ of PHC, indicating that the tenure of the senior-most judge shall begin on the day of swearing-in. 

The senior judge will serve as an acting CJ before being promoted to permanent PHC chief justice following ratification by the judiciary and parliamentary committees, it concluded. 

Following President Zardari's approval, the Ministry of Law and Justice confirmed the appointment of six additional Sindh High Court (SHC) justices to permanent positions.

The judges include Justice Amjad Ali Bohio, Justice Sana Akram Minhas, Justice Jawad Akbar Sarwana, Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro, Justice Abdur Rehman, and Justice Arbab Ali Hakro. 

The Judicial Commission proposed that the six judges be made permanent, and the Parliamentary Committee adopted the recommendation.
