Anwaarul Haq Kakar, who was confirmed as the caretaker prime minister of Pakistan the other day, has stated that the issue of Kashmir is not just about geopolitics but about the 8 million people living in an open-air prison while joining Pakistan was the best decision for Balochistan.

He said this while speaking on an international television channel.

Kakar, who hails from the Pashtun Kakar tribe of Balochistan, believes that domestic terrorism is currently one of the biggest challenges to national security.

On May 9 incidents, he said that no one needs to become a 'Sultan Rahi' to curtail the establishment's role in national politics.

On Balochistan, he said that history had vindicated Balochistan's decision to join Pakistan, where its political and economic rights and representation were protected.

Earlier, in a tweet after being approved as the caretaker prime minister, he had termed it an opportunity to serve the people of Pakistan.

"Prayers requested from everyone that Allah gives me the fortitude to carry out my responsibilities with due diligence."
