FIA Detains PTI Leader Faisal Khan Niazi At Faisalabad Airport

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) apprehended Faisal Khan Niazi at Faisalabad International Airport on Tuesday.

According to airport security, Niazi, the PTI's MNA candidate, arrived in Faisalabad from Sharjah, where he was detained.

Niazi was detained because his name was found on a passport control list.

Meanwhile, PTI leader Sher Afzal Marwat escaped arrest in Chakdara on Friday.

Earlier, it was reported that Marwat was detained in Chakdara when he was on his way from Bajaur to Chakdara to attend the workers' convention.

The PTI had demanded that its leader be released immediately and unconditionally.

The party's official handle on X stated that such overt pressure methods would not and could not work, while the arrest of its leader was described as a "pre-poll rigging attempt."

The party also requested Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa to investigate the 'kidnapping and wrongful arrest' as soon as possible.

Later, a party statement said that Sher Afzal Marwat had been 'rescued' from police detention thanks to the involvement of members of the public and lawyers on the site.
