A photograph of the Merewether Clock Tower in Karachi, taken circa 1960.

Designed by municipal engineer James Strachan in the Gothic Revival style, the tower was opened to public in 1892, as a memorial for Sir William Merewether, a general and former commissioner of Sindh.

The 102-foot landmark is made in Gizri stone and is noted for the detail of its carvings. In its form, it resembles an Eleanor Cross.
