Zahoor Buledi Acting BAP President After Jam Kamal Steps Down
Provincial finance minister Zahoor Buledi is now acting president of the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) after chief minister of the province Jam Kamal Khan Alyani stepped down from that office. CM Balochistan Jam Kamal had earlier this month announced that he had completed a "good" three-year term, and called upon the party a meeting and announce BAP party elections at the earliest.

A formal notification has been issued by BAP general secretary Manzoor Ahmed Kakar, which says that the acting president has been appointed so as to better run the party.

The political crisis brewing in Balochistan came to a head as disgruntled BAP lawmakers and allied parties submitted a no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan to the provincial assembly secretariat. These disgruntled elements had advised the CM to step down so as to avoid the no-confidence motion filed against him.
