"Thank you Peshawar. The sea of people has announced its verdict," he wrote along with the photos. The photo is actually from 2014, and NASA had shared it to mark the Earth Day.
Following criticism from social media users, Ali Muhammad Khan took down the tweet from his timeline. However, many had already taken a screenshot of the deleted tweet.
The PTI held its power show in Peshawar on Wednesday after isha prayers. Former prime minister Imran Khan addressed the gathering -- his first public event after his ouster as the country's prime minister. Khan repeated the allegations about his opponents' involvement in a 'foreign conspiracy' to oust him. He also praised National Assembly deputy speaker Qasim Suri, who had initially rejected the no-confidence motion against the then PM on the grounds that it was part of a 'foreign conspiracy'.
The Supreme Court had declared the deputy speaker's ruling null and void, also reversing the then government's decision to dissolve the National Assembly. The voting on the no-trust motion conducted after much ado last Saturday eventually led to Imran Khan's ouster.
