PM knows


Daily Express (03 February 2020) informed its readers that the PTI’s Asad Umar stated that PM Imran Khan was better aware of the high prices of essential goods than the people themselves (Wazir-e-Azam ko Awam se zyada mehngai ka ehsaas hai). He noted also that the high prices were caused by a Corrupt Mafia and that the government would not spare it under any circumstances.


Fighting Coronavirus


Daily Jang (03 February 2020) reported that Hindu spiritual leader Rampal Ji Maharaj is of the view that it was necessary to avoid meat in order to be safe from the Coronavirus outbreak – since in his view God did not ordain humans to eat meat, and so eating meat is a sin. The same report noted that Swami Chakrapani Maharaj of the Hindu Mahasabha claimed that consuming cow urine and cow dung would counteract the effects of the virus.


Seeing different things


The PML-N’s Marriyum Auranzeb, according to Daily Jang (04 February 2020), expressed her view that while PM Imran Khan could see Hoors, the people were seeing angels of death (mawt ke farishtay).

According to Daily Express (04 February 2020), the PTI’s Shehryar Afridi informed people that it was PM Imran Khan’s wish to establish a factory for making medicines from charas (hashish) in the Tirah valley. He went on to state that while in Pakistan every year large quantities of hashish and opium were burned by authorities, other countries used these substances to produce medicines.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Information and Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq Awan was quoted by Daily Dunya (09 February 2020) as saying that in Naya Pakistan, nobody could loot someone else’s pocket (Naye Pakistan mein koi kisi ke jeyb per daaka nahin dal sakta).
