“Absolutely, we will test him,” Imran told Meher Bokhari during his interview with Hum News, when asked whether the PML-N president may be asked to obtain a vote of confidence from the National Assembly.
According to former premier, Shehbaz had 'tested' the PTI so it was now the party's turn [to do the same].
He informed the interviewer that his party plans to hold a meeting Sunday to finalise the move as well as "other plans to fully put them [ruling coalition] in a testing situation."
It was reported earlier today that the PTI is planning to table a no-trust motion against PM Shehbaz after the possible dissolution of the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assemblies.
Reports in the media suggest that Punjab Governor Baleegh-ur-Rehman may dissolve Punjab Assembly today (Jan 14).
PTI leader said on Friday (Jan 13) that President Arif Alvi may ask the premier to take the vote in exercise of his constitutional powers.
He said that Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan had prepared the summary to dissolve the provincial assembly.
Fawad had urged Punjab governor to not wait for the designated time for the dissolution, saying doing so would ‘delay the formation of an interim set up’ in the province.
On Thursday (Jan 12), Fawad said that CM Elahi had signed the summary to dissolve the assembly and it had been sent to the governor.
“The failure to sign the summary would result in an automatic dissolution of the assembly,” he had said.
He had made the remarks after Elahi’s meeting with PTI chief Imran Khan at his Zaman Park residence.
The PTI leader had also said that the party would now write to PML-N’s Hamza Shehbaz to ask him for appointing a caretaker government.
Parvez Elahi won the vote of confidence of the Punjab Assembly to retain his post as the province’s chief minister, on Wednesday [Jan 11].
What happens after the planned dissolution of the provincial assemblies is still to be seen.
