After a successful title defense in Dubai 4 months ago, Usman will once again defend his WBO World Youth Welterweight championship, this time on home soil in the Lalak Jan Stadium. The night of June 24 promises to be a historic night for Pakistani boxing, when Usman squares off against another undefeated boxer. His Tanzanian opponent, Fikiri Salum, has produced 7 knockouts from his 8 wins. Rarely do boxing fans get to witness 2 undefeated prospects in their prime go head-to-head in a clash of this magnitude.

The event is being promoted by Usman Wazeer’s own promotion, in association with the Gilgit Baltistan government and the FCNA (Force Command Northern Areas). The event will be broadcasted live on national television. A turnout of 30,000 people is expected, consisting of national celebrities and famous personalities from all over Pakistan.
After a successful event last year at the Lalak Jan Stadium, Usman Wazeer Promotions is set to bring competitors from an expected 15 countries in a showcase of premier boxing talent against the best professional fighters currently in Pakistan. The co-main event for the night is an international clash between an undefeated Indonesian boxer, Oky Akbar, and Filipino boxer Jayr Raquinel, who is currently ranked 8th in the entire world.
For a sport that was seemingly decaying at the hands of the entrenched bureaucratic authorities of Pakistan, with the help of such events, Usman has revitalized the sport and reignited the interest of the masses. In a social media post, Usman urged the Pakistani population to show their support in his quest to help the sport of boxing thrive once again in Pakistan.
“I warmly invite all the people of GB to attend and show their support for me at the Lalak Jan Stadium. Let’s unite and cheer for Pakistan! Long live Pakistan”
In a gargantuan effort to revitalize the legacy of boxing in Pakistan, Usman acts as the promoter, organizer and main event fighter for this event.
