The Islamabad police will visit Zaman Park, Imran Khan’s Lahore residence, on Tuesday to arrest Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan following the issuance of a non-bailable arrest warrant against him in a case related to "threatening a woman judge".

Yesterday, an Islamabad police team departed for Lahore via helicopter to arrest PTI Chairman Imran Khan.

Journalist Ahmed Faraz reported, citing sources, that an important meeting was held between police officials of Islamabad and Lahore, in which several decisions were taken. This is the second time Islamabad police visited Lahore Zaman Park carrying a non-bailable arrest warrant against PTI Chairman Imran Khan.

During the meeting, it was decided that Lahore police will fully support the Islamabad police team in ensuring the arrest of PTI Chairman Imran Khan, as there are hundreds of PTI workers gathered around Khan's residence to shield him from detention.

As per sources, it was also decided that before heading towards Zaman Park, Islamabad police will duly inform PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s chief security officer.

It is pertinent to mention here that two courts have issued PTI Chairman Khan's non-bailable arrest warrants in separate cases; he has, however, not appeared before them repeatedly. Yesterday, PTI Chairman Imran Khan led a rally in Lahore, where he also announced to hold of a ‘historic’ rally at Minar-e-Pakistan this Sunday.

"I’ll hold a public meeting at Minar-e-Pakistan on Sunday at 2pm," Imran said, addressing his supporters from inside his vehicle after leading a rally in the metropolis for the first time since his recovery from an attack on him in Wazirabad in November last year.

He said that though his life was in danger, "thieves" imposed upon the country must be held accountable if "true freedom" is to be achieved.

On March 5, an Islamabad police team headed by SP Islamabad reached Zaman Park following the issuance of a non-bailable arrest warrant against PTI Chairman Imran Khan in the Toshakhana case, but upon reaching there, PTI leader Shibli Faraz told police that Khan was not present at his residence, after which police handed over the court notice to him and left for Islamabad.
