JCP Members Propose Names For IHC Judge Appointment

Six members of the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) have proposed names for consideration for the appointment as a judge of the Islamabad High Court (IHC).

The JCP meeting will be held on December 21, with Chief Justice Yahya Afridi presiding. IHC Chief Justice Amir Farooq has proposed the names of District and Sessions Judges (D&SJs) Azam Khan and Shahrukh Arjumand. PTI MNA Gohar Ali Khan has proposed the name of Advocate Kashif Ali Malik, while Islamabad Bar Council member Zulfiqar Ali Abbasi has proposed the name of Advocate Syed Qamar Hussain Shah Sabzwari.  

The senior puisne judge of the Supreme Court, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, has recommended Advocate Sultan Mazhar Sher Khan, while JCP member Roshan Khursheed Bharucha has proposed AD&SJ Hamayun Dilawar. Senator Farooq H. Naek has suggested the names of Advocates Qamar Hussain Sabzwari, Umer Aslam Khan, Danyal Ijaz, and Kashif Ali.
