Banners have been put up on the fence of the Allied Hospital in Faisalabad with hate speech targetting the Ahmadiyya Community and criticising a decision by the Supreme Court.
The hand-painted banners, inciting hatred and violence against the Ahmadiyya Community, were signed by the Faisalabad chapter of the Pakistan Medical Association (PMA).
Some of the banners read: "Qadianism is a cancer. Muslims will not permit it to spread."
Another banner read: "Verdict by Chief Justice of Pakistan is equivalent to encouraging Qadianiat and playing with the emotions of Muslims."
A third banner read: "Chief Justice's verdict in favour of Qadianiat goes against Pakistan's Constitution."
A spokesperson for the Ahmadiyya community said that the actions of the PMA appear to be a blatant attempt to influence a subjudice matter.
Furthermore, the community deemed as highly condemnable the attempts to incite violence against the chief justice of the Supreme Court.
"This kind of behaviour is not worthy of the esteemed medical profession," the community spokesperson said.
"We demand that these hateful banners be removed from the site, and moreover, we expect that the authorities at the PMA would hold the culprits accountable and would take action against them in line with their rules," the community said.
