A key suspect in the robbery of a Polish couple near Sujawal on December 29, 2024, was critically injured in an encounter on Tuesday night.
According to the SHO of Sujawal police station, officers received a tip-off about the suspect, Imran Ubaoro, on the main Jat-Sujawal road and raided his hideout. When Imran and his accomplices saw the police approaching, they opened fire, prompting the police to retaliate. Imran was critically injured, while his accomplice, Akber Thaheem, managed to escape. Police arrested Imran and took him to Sujawal's civil hospital for treatment.
A police spokesman stated that the arrested suspect was involved in various robbery and dacoity cases. Following the robbery of the Polish tourist couple, Sujawal police conducted raids across the district to apprehend those responsible.
Earlier, on January 3, Sujawal police raided the suspects' hideouts and arrested two individuals, Maqbool Hathiyar and Nadeem Ubauro, while Imran managed to escape. Police recovered two mobile phones from the arrested suspects, which were allegedly owned by the Polish tourists, Kowalczyk Jakuo Tomasz (aka Jacub) and his spouse, Scantamburlo Mae Elisabeth (aka Merry).
