The activist is one of the recipients of this year's 'Leadership Award in Women Rights and Activism' under the 'Top50 Professional & Career Women Global Awards – Thirteenth Edition' 2023, in Sri Lanka. The winners were selected out of 102 nominations from all over the world, as per a press release.
The nominees were finalised by Women in Management (WIM), Sri Lanka in collaboration with Women in Work, a partnership between the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Australian government.
"Your remarkable achievements and dedication to your profession have been recognised by our esteemed panel of judges, who have identified you as one of the Top 50 women leaders in the world," read the letter issued by WIM founder and chairperson Dr. Sulochana Segera.
"Your hard work, perseverance, and commitment to excellence have set you apart from your peers and have made a positive impact on your industry and the lives of those around you," she added.
Expressing her delight, Nida said, "Of course it feels nice to have our work being acknowledged globally but what really gives joy at times like these is to see our country, Pakistan's name being counted in the list among other countries and to know that somewhere we or our work may have been the reason for that, is one of greatest blessings from Almighty for which I am so so grateful."

She further said, "More than our individual or personal success, it is the representation for the country that really makes this so worthwhile. I take it as a huge responsibility and a source of encouragement to do the work we do with even more dedication and commitment and hope that it can continue to inspire transformative change at home and abroad."
The award highlights and honours women in the national, regional, and global economy and celebrate their achievements, experience and creativity in leading the institutions, professions and businesses in an efficient and effective manner.
It aims to recognise women who excel in their careers, businesses and everyday life while inspiring others, highlight men who have committed towards gender equality & diversity, and encourage legislative, public and private executive authorities, civil society for their contribution towards gender equality, diversity, social responsibilities, climate and environment actions and good governance.
The honour is also aimed at appreciating institutional and individual efforts, initiatives and projects that target mainstreaming diversity.
Nida will receive her award on June 17 (Saturday) at a ceremony to be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The 'Top50' awards, launched in 2011 with a mere five awards, has now recognisd over 890 women leaders, representing a wide array of professions such as banking and finance, hospitality, media, legal, logistics and supply chains.
