The film’s director Balvant Dave has a cult following because of his 1966 film Gogola, featuring a sea monster that looked like Godzilla.
White Face starred Navinchandra, who acted in a large number of Indian films of the fantasy genre, Leela Pawar, known for her roles in Panghat (1943) and Samaj Ko Badal Dalo (1947), and the oddly named actress Putli.
Very little information is available about the film, except a brief entry in the Asian Film Directory and Who’s Who published in 1952. Some of its music, directed by 1940s composer K Narayan Rao, is available on the internet.
