Lawyer Of Zahir Jaffer's Parents Casts Doubts Over Police Probe
The defence counsel for Zahir Jaffer's parents has questioned the investigation conducted by police in the Noor Mukadam murder case so far, saying that it had 'grey areas'. The Islamabad High Court on Thursday heard the bail applications filed by the parents of Zahir Jaffer, prime suspect in Noor Mukadam's killing.

Justice Amer Farooq Kayani was hearing the petitions. Khawaja Haris, the lawyer for Zakir Jaffer and Asmat Adamjee, said that the police were only using the statements given by Zahir to the police.

He said that the police have not spoken to his clients ever since the court granted their remand.

On July 25, Zahir's parents were arrested following the arrest of their son, Zahir Jaffer. Police had accused the prime suspect's parents of concealing evidence from the investigation team. They had then sought bail from a district and sessions court.

On Aug 5, their post-arrest bail applications were dismissed by a sessions court which had stated that they were guilty of abetment to murder and had hidden material evidence.

The investigation team had told the sessions court on September 9 that Zahid had contacted his father, who was in Karachi, four times on the day of the murder on July 20. Zahir's father, as per the investigators, were aware of Noor's illegal detention and what was going on at their home in Islamabad.
