While talking to BBC World News, Imran Khan said that forces were gathering outside his residence, Zaman Park, and he was mentally prepared to be put behind bars. Upon this, the journalist conducting the interview asked Imran Khan, "If you are mentally prepared, then why are you resisting arrest?" To which Imran Khan responded that 'the court has granted him protective bail till March 18 and there is no reason why police are attempting to arrest me on March 14.’
PTI Chairman Imran Khan said that he is a law-abiding citizen and that everyone should be subject to the law of the land. The British journalist said, "The law of the land says there is an arrest warrant issued against you, and you are resisting; so you are not following the law of the land."
Imran Khan replied that it is not the law of the land as he has ‘protective bail’ till March 18, adding that it is the ‘law of the jungle.’
On the other hand, while addressing his party workers through a video link in Zaman Park, Imran Khan said that when he saw his party workers getting injured during clashes with police and Rangers, he decided to surrender himself to police. "I was about to surrender myself to the police, but the party workers stood in front of me like a wall, saying the police would torture me in the prison and I would be killed or poisoned in detention."
So, there is a clear contradiction in the statements he gave to foreign media and local media. To foreign media, he said he is resisting arrest because he has protective bail till March 18. Whereas in local media, he said he was about to surrender himself to police but the party workers barred him from doing so.
