An anti-Taliban group of Afghan warlords and politicians, called Northern Alliance, held a march carrying Afghanistan's national flag in the Panjshir Valley that has not fallen to the Taliban.

Protests against the Taliban rule were also held in Jalalabad and Khost. The marchers held the Afghan national flag in defiance of the Taliban who have replaced the country's flag with their own white emblem.
Reuters quoted eyewitnesses and a former policeman as saying that three people were killed and over a dozen sustained injuries in firing by Taliban fighters during the protests in Jalalabad.

According to the witnesses, the firing began when some citizens in Jalalabad attempted to install the Afghan national flag at a square in the city.

Meanwhile, photos and videos on social media purportedly showed students in Khost also removing the Taliban flag and replacing it with the country's flag.
