United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres is in Ukraine to meet President Volodymyr Zelensky and the latter's Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan in a bid to end hostilities.

Ways of raising Ukrainian wheat exports and the prospect of a nuclear catastrophe at the country's Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant will be reviewed too, according to BBC News. Russian forces have been occupying the site since March. Heavy shelling has been taking place in the plant's vicinity, prompting calls for ensuring the plant's safety.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24. The resistance was fierce, and the invasion brought mass opprobrium onto Russia.
