Empowering Futures: TAKMIL's Educational Revolution in Remote Pakistan

It's often said that heroes come in all forms. Amina Saqib welcomes Dr. Shahid Qamar to the show, a dedicated individual who has been actively involved in saving lives and engaging in social and community-based projects in both the US and Pakistan. Dr. Qamar is the visionary behind the Pakistan Society for Computational Sciences Research Program and the innovative Teach A Kid Make Individual Life (TAKMIL) 2024 initiative, which provides a remote learning system to underprivileged communities.

TAKMIL, established as a non-profit organization in 2017, aims to catalyze positive societal change through education. Driven by a small group of passionate individuals, TAKMIL seeks to arm communities with the transformative power of education, addressing pressing humanitarian challenges and elevating the quality of life.

In Pakistan, over 22.8 million children are deprived of schooling due to poverty, instability, and a lack of educational infrastructure. Without access to traditional education, these children face limited prospects, perpetuating cycles of poverty. TAKMIL is determined to break this cycle of inequality and illiteracy by implementing targeted educational programs, providing teacher training sessions, and establishing schools in remote areas. Notably, their efforts have expanded educational opportunities from 45 out-of-school children in Mardan to 1500, with a steadfast commitment to further increasing this number.
