At Friday's parliamentary meeting, Noor Alam had taken to task the government for allegedly ignoring the worsening conditions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), including faltering gas and electricity connections and soaring prices.
"Members who occupy the first three rows are the main culprits of the chaos in the country, so put their names on the ECL [Exit Control List] and Pakistan will survive,” said the MNA, while pointing to the treasury benches where the prime minister sat.
“Kindly get out of your aircraft, your Land Cruisers and BMWs and see the condition of the people,” he added.
The show-cause notice will be issued by Federal Defence Minister and president of PTI KP Pervez Khattak and will request that Noor Alam explain why he criticized the current administration, according to sources privy to the matter.
In an interview with Geo News' "Jirga," Noor Alam claimed that as Pervez Khattak is not the chairman of the party, he has 'no right to issue a show-cause notice.' Noor Alam maintained that he had not done anything wrong nor broken any code of conduct.
"I don't care how many show-cause notices are issued against me," he remarked, stating that he would continue to talk about the inflation and unemployment impacting his constituency.
