Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar has cut short his visit to the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos after Islamabad announced military strikes in Iran.
"He has decided to cut short his visit in view of the ongoing developments," Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said in her weekly news briefing on Thursday.
Baloch said that the interim foreign minister has also cut short his visit to Uganda's capital, Kampala, where he is now attending the Non-Allied Movement Summit.
She said in the briefing that Pakistan has shared proof with Iran numerous times and that Islamabad will not allow anyone to threaten its sovereignty and territory.
She stated that Pakistan and Iran have strong social and historical fraternal links and that the two nations have collaborated and communicated extensively in a variety of industries, including energy and trade.
"Our response to Iran's advance warning of an attack is absolutely not," the spokesperson said, adding that Pakistan has no plans to escalate tensions with anyone.
"Pakistan has always valued discussion and cooperation. We have always followed the route of discussion. We will continue to talk with our neighbors, especially Iran, in order to put an end to terrorism," she stated.
Baloch said that she was unaware of any third-party mediation efforts between Iran and Pakistan. She said Pakistan has been in contact with Iran for several months and considers it a close friend.
These bombings targeted terrorist groups' safe havens rather than Iran, she added.
