While hearing a petition filed by Adamjee, the top court on Monday okayed her bail against a surety bond of Rs1 million. The bail application of Zakir Jaffer, Zahir's father, was however denied by the apex court, which then disposed of the case.
During the last hearing of the case, the SC had asked the prosecution to file evidence against Adamjee. While granting bail to her today, the judge stated that her role in the case was 'secondary'.
Justice Umar Ata Bandial remarked that it appeared that there was no evidence of Adamjee's involvement in the crime. To this, Islamabad Advocate General Niazullah Khan Niazi said that the 11 phone calls made by her were available as record.
The judge directed the authorities to find out why TherapyWorks employees and not police were called to the site of the murder.
The apex court, rejected the petitioner's request seeking suspension of Islamabad High Court's (IHC)'s order of September 29 in which the bail pleas of Zahir's parents were rejected. The SC said that it won' interfere in the high court's orders.
