Abdullah Shafique, the Pakistani opener, is staying away from people since he has the illness. As a result, he was unable to participate in the Green Shirts' training session on Tuesday at Bengaluru's M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

On October 20, the squad will play against Australia in a highly anticipated World Cup encounter in Bengaluru.

According to those with knowledge of the situation, Shafique had the illness today and had to cancel any appointments he didn't need to.

They said that Usama Mir, a leg spinner, and pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi also contracted the virus but have now recovered.

Six players were absent from the training session that was held yesterday. Along with the traveling reserves Zaman Khan and Mohammad Haris, they include Shafique, Mohammad Rizwan, Shaheen, and Salman Ali Agha.

People said that, with the exception of Shafique, the players did not participate in the session to rest.

Players who showed signs of a fever were swiftly examined in accordance with the team's medical policy. All athletes underwent COVID-19 testing as well as screenings for signs of dengue fever as part of the safety precautions.

The Pakistan Cricket Board noted in a statement earlier in the day that a few players had fever in the previous few days but that the majority of them had fully recovered.

"Those who are in the stage of recovery remain under the team medical panel’s observation," the committee stated.

Pakistan has played three matches thus far in the mega event and will compete on Friday. They defeated their bitter rivals, India, on Saturday, losing one game while winning two.
