Weather experts predicted that the monsoon season would arrive in Karachi in early July, owing to "a medium-level pressure over the Arabian Sea" that was expected to develop on June 30.
According to meteorological experts, a medium-level pressure system is predicted to form over the Arabian Sea on June 30, bringing the port city its first deluge in the first week of July.
The monsoon season will begin in Pakistan from June 27 to July 4, with experts forecasting "more than usual rains" in southern Sindh, including Karachi, this year.
However, the expert described it as a "long-term forecast" that may alter in the future.
Earlier, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) announced in its daily prediction that most plain parts of the country will see extremely hot and dry weather during the day.
However, gusty winds and windstorms, along with isolated rain-thunderstorms, are likely in northeast Punjab, Islamabad, the Potohar area, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan during the evening hours.
It is also forecast that some parts of Karachi may get rainfall late Wednesday night, but the weather in the port city is forecast to stay hot and humid for the following 24 hours.
