Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Fawad Chaudhry has said that the party would file cases against police officials engaged in the ‘violent and illegal operation’ that took place during the raid to detain former premier Imran Khan from his residence in Lahore.

On Saturday, the Punjab Police resumed an operation at Imran Khan’s residence after he went to the Islamabad Judicial Complex to appear before a court. They broke into the house and took numerous party members into custody.

Fawad said on Twitter that the party has called a meeting with its legal counsel.

"The legal team will meet today. Every home-sanctity norm has been broken by the police's defiance of the Lahore High Court's order and entry into Imran Khan's home. Items were taken. Also, they removed juice boxes. Those who were innocent were tortured," he tweeted.

PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry claimed that everything that occurred in Islamabad is to blame for the country’s continuing constitutional dilemma.

"Defying a court order is unacceptable. The high court must protect its orders. All police officials who engaged in violent acts and illegal activities had cases filed against them," he stated.

On the other hand, PTI workers attacked the Punjab Police Elite Force and its vehicle as they were leaving yesterday night's Pakistan Super League (PSL) championship game, according to media reports.

The Punjab caretaker government has made the decision to pursue legal action against the attackers.

The van's windows were broken by the PTI workers, who beat it with sticks. Although the Elite Force members fled for their lives, they also broke the windscreen and lights of the police van.

The PTI employees also had state-owned firearms in the cars they were in charge of, and they took two guns, leaving them entirely shattered. Another police officer was tortured as he was walking home from work.
