According to media reports, the directives have been given to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.
PML-N sources say Nawaz wants petrol at the said price as well as relief for power consumers utilising a maximum of 300 units.
On December 15, the finance minister announced to slash the price of petrol by Rs10 per litre and diesel by Rs7.5 per litre.
“The prime minister wants to provide maximum relief to the people and we have been implementing this policy since October 30,” the minister had said during a televised address.
“As per our calculations, petrol prices will be reduced by Rs10 to Rs214.8 at midnight. High-speed diesel will be be available for Rs227.80 after a Rs7.5 cut,” he added.
The minister further said that kerosene oil will now be available for Rs171.38 after a Rs10 decrease. The price of light diesel oil will now be Rs169 after a decrease by the same price.
