The letters by the Pakistan Bar Council and the Supreme Court Bar Association raising objections and concerns for fair and transparent elections under Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja appear to be attempts at sabotaging the elections.

This was discussed during the latest episode of 'Khabar Say Aagay' on Naya Daur TV.

During the episode, Jahangir Khan Jadoon said that one of the objections raised was that the population of Hafizabad district was similar to that of Jhelum, yet only one seat was created there while two were created in Jhelum, which is also the home town of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja. Jadoon noted that Ahsan Bhoon had challenged Hafizabad's delimited boundaries in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

Subsequently, he went to the Islamabad High Court (IHC), but the court sent him back to the ECP. The ECP has also passed a judgement on the delimitation of the constituency. It was determined that the population is smaller than the population required to create two constituencies in a district.

Reporter Syed Sabih Ul Hasnain said that Ahsan Bhoon enjoys considerable influence in political and legal circles.

His objections over the delimitation of constituencies is a private issue but has misfired because senior lawyers do not agree with his stance.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman to hold talks in Kabul

Aijaz Ahmed said that Maulana Fazlur Rehman has yet to travel to Kabul. He will not go to Afghanistan until he completes consultations with powerful quarters at home.

Rehman is the only one who can play an important role in this scenario.

Khawaja Asif and Dars face off

Former federal defence minister Khawaja Asif and the Dar brothers, Umer and Usman, have traded barbs over a nighttime raid by the Sialkot police on the latter's home while looking for Umer Dar.

Umer Dar is wanted by the police in several cases but remains in hiding.

During the raid, Dar's mother was allegedly manhandled and claimed that the 20-man raiding squad were sent by Asif, an accusation he vehemently denies. She claimed that she had been targeted because she had announced to contest polls from Sialkot against the PML-N leader.

In response, Asif maintained that he respects the elderly and women and would not compromise his ideals just to exact revenge against a political rival.

Naukhaiz Sahi says Sialkot is considered a stronghold for the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). Despite PTI's popularity during the 2018 elections, they failed to win any seat in the national assembly from Sialkot.
