In January 2017, operatives of the ISI, Pakistan's largest intelligence agency, forcibly disappeared five activists, four of whom were bloggers for using Facebook and other social media platforms to criticize government policies. Poet and university lecturer Salman Haider was among them. He was detained incommunicado for three weeks near or in Islamabad. In this episode, on the International Day for the Victims of Enforced Disappearances, Haider speaks with Rabia Mehmood about his abduction, detention, and torture. During his captivity, a false blasphemy campaign was initiated, making it impossible for Haider and others to remain in Pakistan. He has been in exile since his release.
