Law and order in Kasur
According to Daily Dunya (02 July 2018), five men had allegedly robbed a store (kiryana store) in Kasur and on the complaint of the owner, were arrested. Thereafter, the police allegedly appropriated all of the money and items recovered from the five men, and arranged a ‘reconciliation’ (sulah) with the store owner. The report further stated that the owner appeared in court to testify in favour of the five men, allegedly under pressure from the police officials – leading to the acquittal of all five in one session.
Faisalabad’s Finest
It was reported by Daily Dunya (02 July 2018) that an operative of the Dolphin Force in Faisalabad was caught on video displaying stunts (kartab) on his service motorcycle. He was suspended (muattal) from service for his behaviour while on duty, which included riding the bike without using his hands and blowing kisses in the air (hawai bosay).
Why he left
Daily Jang (02 July 2018) reported that Chaudhry Nisar explained his decision to sever himself from PML-N by saying that Nawaz Sharif had made an enemy of him (dushmani ki hai), and had issued electoral tickets to those who had abused him (jinhon ne mujhe galian deen). Nisar further stated that the Muslim League was in his family and his blood, but that it was no longer an ideological (nazriyati) Muslim League.

Jamshed Dasti was quoted by Daily Jang (02 July 2018) as saying that the PML-N and the PPP were finished in his region, and his contest was now with the PTI.
Conspiracy?
Daily Dunya (03 July 2018) reported that leaders of the Tehreek e Labbaik threatened a dharna protest over the election symbol assigned to their organisation. According to the report, Pir Afzal Qadri from the Tehreek e Labbaik took the view that his organisation had been assigned the symbol of a crane, but that an excavator was drawn instead. This, according to him, was a conspiracy to divide the votes of the organisation.
Siraj vs Imperialism
Siraj-ul-Haq of the Jamaat-e-Islami was quoted by Daily Jang (03 July 2018) as saying that some people (kuch loog), acting on the agenda of the international establishment, are looking to block the way of the religious forces (deeni quwwatein). He further added that secular and liberal people were instruments of imperialism (samraj ke aala-kar) and that the international media wanted them to succeed and religious and ideological forces to fail.
Dissenters of Sialkot?
It was reported by Daily Jang (03 July 2018) that a woman in Sialkot tried to hit Firdous Ashiq Awan of the PTI with a shoe. The report stated that the old woman (buzurg aurat) tried to hurl a shoe at the politician during her election campaign, but failed in the attempt.
Bilawal’s burden?
The PPP’s Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, according to Daily Jang (03 July 2018), explained the stones thrown at his entourage as being the outcome of his opponents’ ire at the warm welcome afforded to him in Lyari. He further said that he had not only promised to address the problems of the people, but that he had picked up the stick/baton (danda) himself.

According to Daily Nawa-i-Waqt (07 July 2018), Imran Khan was sipping tea in Swat as he heard the court ruling against Nawaz Sharif. He offered nafl prayers in gratitude, according to the report.
All he ever wanted
Chaudhry Nisar was quoted by Daily Nawa-i-Waqt (08 July 2018) as saying that he wanted to save Nawaz Sharif from what is currently happening to him. He expressed his view that Nawaz Sharif ought to reflect on how he was wrong. Nisar further added that he was the sort of person who sacrifice themselves for their friends (doston pe qurban honay wala), but that Nawaz Sharif had betrayed him (be-wafai ki).
