Earlier on May 25, clashes had continued throughout the day between the PTI supporters and law enforcement agencies at different locations in the twin cities during the party’s “Azadi March”.
The police personnel had raided the houses of several PTI leaders in Punjab and Karachi, and arrested some of them.
The police had also attacked former health minister Yasmin Rashid’s car in Lahore, breaking her windscreen in an attempt to stop her from moving forward.
In a tweet today, Asad Umar said: "No one should think that we have forgotten May 25 …. A committee is being formed which will get all the fake cases withdrawn legally and take action as per the law against the officials who followed illegal orders to torture people and took illegal action."
Meanwhile, the PTI formed a seven-member panel, with former education minister Shafqat Mahmood as the convener and Aamer Mehmood Kiani, Yasmin Rashid, Aon Abbas Buppi, Raja Basharat, Burhan Moazzam Malik and Hafiz Farhat Abbas as the committee members.
