At least four soldiers were martyred in two separate skirmishes between security forces and terrorists in North and South Waziristan.

In a statement issued by the military's media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that two incidents took place between the night of October 18 and October 19 in North and South Waziristan.

In the first incident, security forces engaged with terrorists at their hideout in the general area of Gharyoum in the North Waziristan District.

In the ensuing exchange of fire, at least six terrorists were killed, including a 'high-value target', a terrorist ringleader identified as Hazrat Zaman alias Khawarey Mullah.

The military said that Zaman was actively involved in multiple terrorist activities in the area and was wanted by law enforcement agencies.

The statement added that during the operation, three soldiers, including Lance Naik TabbasumuI Haq (36 years of age from Rawalpindi district), Sepoy Naeem Akhtar (30-year-old resident of Attock district) and Sepoy Abdul Hameed (23-year-old resident of Multan district), embraced shahadat after having fought gallantly.

In the second incident, security forces had an intense exchange of fire with terrorists in the Asman Manza area of South Waziristan District.

During the engagement, Sepoy Farman Ali (25 years of age and a resident of Kashmore District) embraced shahadat.

Following the skirmish, security forces launched a search of the area to trace and eliminate any terrorists.

The military said that the security forces are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country, and such sacrifices of soldiers further strengthen their resolve.
