The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) says a Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) commander was killed in an operation conducted by security forces in Mir Ali area of North Waziristan on Monday.

The TTP commander identified as Safiullah was involved in the killings of four female representatives of an NGO and engineers belonging to the Frontier Works Organisation, according to ISPR. Saifullah was also involved in planning and executing attacks on security forces as well as extortion and kidnapping for ransom. A large cache of weapons and ammunition was also recovered in the operation.

Earlier in June, a Pakistan Army soldier and two TTP terrorists were killed in a gunfight during an intelligence-based operation in Spinwam area of North Waziristan. The ISPR had said the terrorists killed in the operation were involved in terror plots against the security forces.
