Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Kanwal Shauzab went on an insulting tirade against Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto and Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice Ather Minallah during a discussion on Twitter, calling Bilawal a transgender person and terming Justice Minallah a pharaoh.

In a Twitter Spaces live event, the lawmaker insinuated that Bilawal Bhutto was of 'the third kind' and questioned why no one had stepped up as a man.

It is not the first time that Kanwal Shauzab has exchanged harsh words with the chief justice, either. During an IHC hearing on amendments to the Prevention of Electronic Crimes (PECA) ordinance, the lawmaker wept before the court and cited 'obscene language' used by female members of parliament.  Her lawyer also got in a heated exchange with the opposing counsel.

Last week, Kanwal Shauzab reportedly held hostage journalist Batool Rajpoot, demanding she delete an interview the lawmaker found unfavourable.  When the journalist refused, Shauzab reportedly stopped her from leaving the house. Shauzab denied the incident, calling it a 'publicity stunt.'

The MNAs derogatory remarks against the transgender community come just days after the brutal attack against five trans women in Mansehra, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), as well as the murder of a well-known transgender figure in Mardan, KP.  The comments levied against the trans community are indicative of the discrimination against the Khawaja Sira community in Pakistan, often leading to violent attacks against them.
