Women in Law Initiative Celebrates Barrister Zahrah Sehr Vayani's Election As Bar Representation Committee of Lincolns Inn

Women in Law Initiative on Tuesday, 15 November 2022, joined Barristers and lawyers in Lahore to welcome and celebrate the historic and landmark victory of CEO of Women Lawyers Association Karachi (a sister organization based in Karachi with whom Women in Law Initiative Pakistan liaisons) Barrister Zahrah Sehr Vayani from Karachi who has recently been elected as a member of the Bar Representation Committee of Lincolns Inn, UK.



Over 1300 Barristers voted from all over the globe for this category. She is the first Pakistani female to have been elected to this position out of a total of 19 candidates from around the world. Barrister Zahrah will serve as a member of the committee for a period of four years. She is keen to work on debt relief for climate change, improving gender imbalance at bench and bar as well as problems faced by overseas students with admissions and scholarships amongst others.

 

In sharing the celebration, the Women in Law initiative stated that it was an ‘amazing day of camaraderie at the Lahore High Court’ as lawyers gathered to show their support to Barrister Zahrah who had come down to Lahore all the way from Karachi, which enabled them to be a part of the celebrations in a big way as well.



Many other female lawyers who are leading in their own right in Lahore including candidates for Vice President and Secretary Lahore High Court Bar Association Election 2023-24 ASC Rabbiya Bajwa and ASC Sabahat Rizvi, as well several other senior colleagues including advocates Saadia, Misbah Sarwar and Khalida Perveen sahiba were present.



 

Several male lawyers and Barristers also lent their support and came forward to wish Barrister Zahrah and applaud her on her remarkable international success.

Women in Law Initiative is very proud of Barrister Zahrah and wishes her well for her new role.
