The notification to this effect was issued by the Ministry of Interior.
The protestors are seeking the outfit's chief Saad Rizvi's release. Saad Rizvi, son of late TLP founder Khadim Hussain Rizvi, is in detention since April 12 for “maintenance of public order (MPO)”. At first he was detained for three months and then again taken into custody under the Anti-Terrorist Act on July 10. A federal review board will hear the government’s reference against him on Saturday.
The government had appealed the Lahore High Court (LHC) decision ordering his release. A division bench of the high court will be formed to hear the government's appeal. On October 12, the apex court suspended the single bench order and said that a division bench would be formed to hear the case.
The banned TLP held a rally on the occasion of Eid Miladun Nabi on Tuesday. While addressing their supporters, the outfit's leaders accused the government of deliberately delaying Saad Rizvi's release.
