Earlier, Sheikh Rasheed had commented on security threats to the ex-PM by saying, "If someone harms a hair on Imran Khan's head, the country will face a civil war."
“The real party has only just started,” claimed the former PM. Asking his supporters to await his call, he said, “I don't want anything else except early elections." He addressed “those who have made a mistake” and called upon these quarters to push for early elections.
He added: “I do not want any conflict.” Further, he said, “I will live and die in Pakistan.”
Further, he invited supporters of other parties like PML-N and PPP to support his campaign.
The former PM also doubled down on his claims of a foreign-backed regime change effort as the reason for his ouster from power. He stated that it was his independent foreign policy which the external powers “did not like.”
“An independent foreign policy means that all the decisions will be made in the interest of the people. I cannot sacrifice my countrymen for a foreign power,” he claimed.
