The country will continue to experience monsoon rains from August 23 to July 27, but with brief breaks, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
According to the Met Office, starting on August 22 in the evening or overnight, light monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea are predicted to reach the higher regions of the country.
According to a statement issued by the PMD, "a westerly wave is also likely to enter these areas on August 23."
In Kashmir (Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber, Mirpur), Gilgit Baltistan (Diamir, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghanche, Shigar), Murree, and Galliyat on August 25 and 26, with sporadic gaps, rain with wind and thundershowers are anticipated.
Other cities include Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Mansehra, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Haripur, Kohat, Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, and Nowshera.
In the meantime, rain with wind and thundershowers are also anticipated from August 24 to 26, with sporadic breaks in Kurram, Lakki Marwat, Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, Karak, Waziristan, Mianwali, Sargodha, Khushab, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, and Bhakkar.
On August 25 and 26, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Musa Khel, Barkhan, Zhob, Kalat, and Khuzdar were all expected to see rain, according to the PMD prediction.
