Bholo Khanzado, a local leader of MQM (Pakistan) was attacked and shot dead on the spot, allegedly by one Asad Jiskani, the brother of the earlier slain Altaf Ahmed Jiskani.
Altaf Jiskani, the general of Sindh Taraqi Pasand Party (STP) was attacked and killed by some armed men in Tando Allahyar on the 18th of November 2020, and Khanzado had been noinated in the murder case among others.
Police officials claimed that Asad Jiskani, who attacked the under-trial prisoner Bholo Khanzado, also himself received bullet injuries in the firing as he tried to flee the crime scene.
The injured Jiskani, after being arrested by a police team, was shifted to Civil Hospital Hyderabad in the town for treatment, where he remains under tight security by police and Rangers personnel.
The workers of MQM (P), taking the body of the murdered Khanzado, staged a demonstration for several hours and ended their protest on late Friday night after some officials met and assured them of a probe into the incident.
Meanwhile, the leaders of STP claim their party worker was not involved in the attack on the killer of his brother, but was instead shot at and injured by policemen when he was going to the court to attend the hearing fixed for Friday.
Activists of both rival parties came out onto the roads to register their protest and the situation became tense in the town. All the bazaars of the town remained shut due to the tense environment and people were forced to remain indoors.
DIG Hyderabad Syed Pir Mohammad Shah is reported to have “taken strong notice” of the situation, and has ordered a probe into the incident. The SSP for Tando Allahyar, Rukhsar Ahmed Khawar, while talking to the media, claimed that the situation was well under control and tight security measures had been taken to avert any untoward incidents.
