The ousted prime minister was responding to comments by PML-N’s Khurram Dastgir, who had opined that Khan wanted to bring in army chief of his choice.
Speaking in Islamabad, Khan said that his opponents in the PML-N and PPP leadership were afraid that if he had brought in Lt. General Faiz Hameed as the next army chief, then they would be in trouble and their accountability will continue.
In a reference to the current military leadership, Khan asked: "Can a watchman remain neutral if there is a robbery in the house?"
The PTI leader also reiterated his claims of a US regime change conspiracy in Pakistan, saying that it was pressure from Washington D.C. that had created the situation in which he was ousted from power.
“The US wants India to be strong and compete with China. It is their agenda [for Pakistan] to recognise Israel, and forget about Kashmir,” he opined.
