Activist Usama Khilji tweeted the video of Dawar’s speech and questioned that why the lawmaker’s mic was muted while he was speaking about resurging terrorism in Waziristan.
In his speech, Dawar said that the Parliament is totally unaware about the peace talks with terrorists, adding that the assassins are roaming freely in front of the security institutions.
However, the video shows that the speaker turned off Dawar’s mic to give his observation, saying that terrorism has damaged Pakistan a lot and “our sympathies are with all those people, who got martyred during terrorist activities in the country”.
Last month, on the third anniversary of the Khar Qamar incident, in which 15 Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) activists were killed, Dawar had said that despite the change in government, nothing is different for the oppressed groups and ethnic minorities of the country.
“The powers that be continue to violate human rights,” he had said.
“Things are still the same, the lies about the incident are still there, and enforced disappearances continue to take place, he had told the Friday Times.
