Sound of music
We heard about MBS’s big entourage and the planeloads of luxury goods that accompanied him on his brief visit to Pakistan recently. What we didn’t hear was the sound of music emanating from his Steinway piano, which also accompanied him to Isbad. Apparently, he plays beautifully and takes his piano everywhere he goes. We learnt this from a source close to the tuner who was flown in especially from Dubai for a few hours – so that the Prince could strike out with Beethoven’s Fur Elise, if he fancied.
Pressure tactics
Journalists across the country are working under tremendous pressure; censorship touches new lows every day. It was a particularly sad day when a major news source was pressurised into putting out a blatantly false story. This concerned a former Chief Adjudicator who’d been living it up in a ritzy London hotel, en famille, courtesy a sugar daddy and was exposed as such. The ex-Chief Adjudicator had previously summoned the sponsors of the news source to his court under some pretext, and turned the screws when his lavish living was exposed. This resulted in the news source putting out a wholly false story about the ex’s modest stay at a Bed n Breakfast at his own expense!
Dark invocations
There’s been an oblique reference to this tale in an Urdu column but it bears repeating. A woman politician, seeking glory in the ruling party, went to a shaman in Daska and asked for a spell that would guarantee her advancement. On the shaman’s recommendation, she found a temporary abode near Bunny Gala, and spell in hand, began her dark invocations. Within a few hours, she began to feel ill and when the sickness advanced, she panicked and fled. We hear she then got a call from Her Holiness who admonished her, and asked for the source of the spell. The wannabe candidate divulged all and left the country.
