During the hearing, LHC Justice Tariq Saleem Shaikh remarked that the FIA and the police had submitted the details of the cases. Therefore, the stay order cannot be intact anymore, he added.
On the other hand, according to the document available with The Friday Times, the federal police have decided to arrest all the Islamabad-based financiers of PTI. Initially, a list of 21 people has been prepared, including Raja Khurram Nawaz, Ali Nawaz Awan, Amir Mehmood Kayani, Sami Ezidi, Dr. Shahzad Waseem, Azam Swati, Fauzia Arshad, Raja Qaiser Ghaffar, contractor Zwan Ahmed, Jameel Abbasi, Raja Zulqarnain, Sohail Sati, Malik Amir, Chaudhry Ilyas Mehrban, Ishtiaq Ahmed, Pir Hasnain Haider Shah, Amjad Mehmood, Malik Sajid, Shizaz Kiani, Jamshed Mughal, and Shoaib Khan.
It is pertinent to mention here that the LHC halted the action taken to execute the arrest warrant issued against Imran Khan in the Toshakhana case.
On March 15, the Lahore High Court stopped the ongoing police operation to arrest PTI Chairman Imran Khan till 10 am the next morning.
A petition was filed in the Lahore High Court against the police operation at Imran Khan’s residence in Lahore, which was heard by Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh.
The petition was filed by PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry through his lawyer, Khawaja Tariq Rahim, in which it was argued that basic human rights were being affected by tear gas shells. The people of Zaman Park are badly affected by the shelling. It claimed that the law was violated in the execution of the arrest warrant for Imran Khan.
The court ordered the police to stop the operation till 10 am the next day.
The hearing resumed the next morning and concluded once again with an extension of the stay order. The court then issued an order to stop the operation till March 17.
On March 17, the Islamabad High Court suspended the non-bailable arrest warrant for former Prime Minister Imran Khan in the Tosha Khana case. Chief Justice Islamabad High Court Justice Amir Farooq heard the case.
On the other hand, the Lahore High Court had ordered Imran Khan to appear in court around 5:30. A two-member bench comprising Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh and Justice Farooq Haider heard the petitions for protective bail of Imran Khan in seven anti-terrorism cases, while Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh heard the protective bail pleas in two cases as a single-member bench.
By granting protective bail to Imran Khan in nine cases, the police were stopped from arresting him till March 27.
