Magnitude 6.1 Earthquake Jolts Nepal

The epicenter of the quake was at Dhading, about 55 km west of Kathmandu.

According to the National Seismological Centre of Nepal, an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 occurred on Sunday.

It said that the epicenter of the earthquake was located near Dhading, some 55 kilometers (35 miles) west of Kathmandu. "We experienced quite powerful tremors.”

A few locals hastily left their houses.

Nepal is struck by two earthquakes that obstructed a major highway and caused one injury.

The highest-ranking administrator in the Dhading district, Badrinath Gaire, told Reuters that there has been no news of casualties thus far.

According to the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 13 km (8.1 miles).
