Pakistan Spared From Custom Duties In Rice Exports To Azerbaijan

The government of Azerbaijan has decided to exempt Pakistan from applicable custom duties associated with the import of rice from the country, according to Azerbaijan's ambassador to Pakistan.

The five-year exemption will last until December 31, 2027, revealed Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan Khazar Farhadov in a tweet on Wednesday. 

Announcing another 'great news in Azerbaijan-Pakistan brotherly relations', the ambassador wrote that rice imports from Pakistan to Azerbaijan are exempted from customs duty until December 31, 2027. "Undoubtedly, it will play significant role in increasing our trade turnover," he said.

In 2021, Azerbaijan imported rice worth $1.57 million from Pakistan, according to a report by the United Nation's COMTRADE database on global trade.
