Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to cancel its planned sit-in in Islamabad, and will only hold a rally after reaching the capital, as the party reportedly reached an agreement with the government. Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb has however denied that any agreement took place between the two sides, saying that the government hasn't held talks with an ‘armed’ group.

According to a report by Geo, negotiations between representatives from PTI and the government went on for two and a half hours, after which an agreement was reached. As per the alleged agreement, PTI called off the sit-in, and will only have a rally in the federal capital.

However, Federal Minister for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb in a tweet refuted the reports of negotiations between the government and PTI, saying "No agreement has been reached with the armed group that martyred the police personnel."

PTI Chairperson Imran Khan has also denied any deal taking place, saying PTI is moving towards Islamabad and there is 'no question of a deal'.

"We will remain in Islamabad till announcement of dates for dissolution of assemblies & elections are given," he said, calling the people of Islamabad and Pindi to join in.
