A hostile environment compelled slain journalist Arshad Sharif to flee Pakistan, reporter Azaz Syed said on Tuesday.

Azaz made the comments in flagship Naya Daur TV show Khabar Say Aagay. Welcoming the ISPR's statement on the Kenya killing, he said the issue must not be politicised.

Commenting on Imran's impending long march, he said no reaction would ensue if the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman conducted it in a peaceful manner. Imran however, Azaz said, had been warned that if the long march turned violent the military will come to the aid police.

Former Radio Pakistan Director General Murtaza Solangi said the Kenyan government was not fully cooperating with Pakistan over Sharif's killing. This, he said was so despite Pakistan nudging the Kenyan government at its highest level. Solangi said while the PTI chairman had announced that he would not take the long march to the Red Zone in Islamabad and it will be conducted peacefully his protest track record shows otherwise.

Flagship Naya Daur TV show Khabar Say Aagay streams Monday to Saturday at 9pm.
