During his speech PTM leader Manzoor Pashteen addressed several issues. These included the harshness with which MNA Ali Wazir faced as he was denied a production order due to his free speech; the national institutions behind the deaths of civilians in the FATA areas caused by the 'State of Exceptions' imposition on the Pashtun people; how a new 'national security' narrative since 2001 was being built where rules were changed and anyone who expressed any independent thought was targeted.
Consequently, a citizen named Naeem Mirza filed a FIR against Pashteen invoking sections 124A (sedition), 149 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object) and 505 (statements conducing to public mischief) of the Pakistan Penal Code. It also included Section 11-X (responsibility for creating civil commotion) of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997.
