Yesterday, two police personnel embraced martyrdom, and another two were critically injured when a magnetic bomb attached to their vehicle exploded in Balochistan’s Khuzdar district.

Police officials said the magnetic bomb exploded when the vehicle was patrolling near Jhalawan Complex.

Fahad Khosa, Khuzdar’s senior superintendent of police, said, “It was a remote-controlled magnetic explosive that had been mounted to the police vehicle by unknown individuals.”

Three police officers were hurt; one of them eventually passed away in the hospital, while the vehicle’s driver died instantly.

Deputy Inspector General of Police Kalat Range, Pervaiz Khan Umrani, and Khuzdar Deputy Commissioner Ilyas Kibzai reached the site along with police and Frontier Corps officials soon after the bomb exploded in Khuzdar.

Security personnel surrounded the area and moved the injured and deceased to the hospital. Din Muhammad and Abdul Salam were named as the deceased policemen. Saddam and Abdul Latif are among the injured policemen.

To identify the individuals or entities responsible for the bomb attack, security forces have started a search operation in and around Khuzdar town.

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo has denounced the explosion and ordered the authorities to use every legal means at their disposal to apprehend those responsible.
